So, last night I worked on my two piano songs, which are coming along pretty nicely save for the fact that I can't play piano. Details, details.
I rented videogames-- I wanted to try something new on my Gamecube, but wasn't really into the idea of a Resident Evil game, which is what I usually rent. So I tried out Super Monkey Ball, a game that I've heard nothing but good things about from both Mike and my brother. Well fuck!! Maybe it's a 4 player thing, but seriously, I got so angry at that game that I could only play it for maybe 15 minutes. I got to that stupid level where all the panels move and you have to make it from one side to the other on something that resembles a broken rubiks (spelling?) cube... and no matter what I did my stupid monkey fell off every time. So grr!!
I saw War of The Worlds, and I'm pleased to say it was entertaining enough that I only got mad at Tom Cruise maybe three times in it... and I only thought about TomKat once, so Speilberg must have done something right. I burst out laughing at the credits, though, when I read the obligatory "Based on the Novel by H.G Wells". It should have read: "Alien design slightly based upon the ideas of H.G Wells". I liked it, and I had in no way expected it to be like the book (that would make for a really boring movie)... actually come to think of it, if the movie had followed the novel closely, it probably would have just starred Tim Robbins and left everybody else out of it. Or maybe not, considering that the guy in the book never once whent, "My plan is to fight back..." he just wandered around yelling, "HOLY CRAP!" every time something happened.
At any rate, after the movie (which was right next to Chapters), I slipped into the midnight magic sale and bought my beloved Harry Potter novel, which I will start today but will not speak of on this journal, because I don't want anyone to think I'm trying to spoil anything.
Erin and I went back to my house and I showed her a bit of Katamari Damacy, which I'd rented for the PS2. It was good to see that wonderful little green guy dancing about again...
HOLY SHIT!! ok, so that was just a plane... anyone who's seen War of the Worlds will understand when I explain how a plane just flew over my house, but I only heard the low hum of the engines for a moment... it sounded an awful lot like you know what, that loud singular blast...
I also rented "Siren" for Ps2, which looks scary, but I've never heard of it. Anyway since I am now scared of fog horns, I don't think it's a good idea for me to play that game and be afraid of sirens too... I'd be a mess in traffic.
I have to go buy bins now to pack up my room. Have a good Saturday, all!
